Hearty Morning Oats

Behold the king of all breakfasts.

I created this recipe a few years ago when my husband and I were both working full time with an infant (who was being breastfed at the time) and we had to find a quick and easy breakfast that would supply us with nutrient density and flavor. We played with different variations of this vegan/vegetarian, gluten free, dietary restriction friendly compilation, and this staple has remained unchanged ever since.

The Hearty Morning Oats are made in under 5 minutes and are super dense in whole grains, iron, antioxidants, fiber, and protein. I use gluten free old fashioned rolled oats, but any oatmeal should be fantastic. If you are vegan or vegetarian, the blackstrap molasses is loaded in iron and the flax & chia brings omega 3’s and additional fiber to the table.

This is the best possible solution to breakfast; it’s kid friendly, delicious, and so extremely nutrient dense. Enjoy!
